…I finally got around to flipping the calendar to March. For the next three days, I will be at the top of my game. Who knows? Maybe I’ll get motivated to flip to April before taxes are due.

Today I looked up “flyer” in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary and found, “What made you want to look up ‘flyer’? Please tell us where you read or heard it (including the quote, if possible).”
I’ve used dictionaries that were unhelpful, but this is the first to question my motives.
I decided I’m going to write my own dictionary. Next to each entry I’ll write, “You talkin’ to me?” and “Who wants to know?”

Today Elmo, sporting baggy pants, hoodie and black sunglasses, rapped out a tune called “Yo Five, No Jive.” It brought me back to when Alvin and the Chipmunks, acorn bling dangling from gold chains, posed gangsta-style on the cover of their self-titled DVD. Next, I predict Oscar the Grouch emerges from his garbage can with diamond grill, do rag and machine gun. Which of our childhood icons will sell out next?
